The documentary “The history of all us women” collects the story of three Salvadorian women who saw their fundamental rights violated when they were accused of a crime of abortion and finally imprisoned for aggravated homicide, when in out-of-hospital deliveries they lost their babies.
In 1998, El Salvador reformed the Criminal Code to penalize abortion with prison sentences between 2 and 8 years. However, in the alleged cases of voluntary interruptions of pregnancy, women are sentenced for aggravated homicide, with sentences of between 30 and 40 years in prison.
This is the story of Elsi, Cinthia and Mariana. But it could be that of many others and that of us.

Written by two women, the hope of the film is to raise awareness about the subtle, often overlooked or mistaken for passion, mental and physical abuse in love relationships. It is our hope that women’s organizations that tackle similar issues women face every day will see our film and be inspired to let others know there is a way out.
This is a story of the cycle of abuse, of how a woman will go back because she sees a love no one else understands. We want to convey how a woman like Stella can find her inner wolf again and truly break free- that love can have fire but not burn us. We must not forget Aron either, and seek understanding for him and those like him, the abusers, who are as much in search of that love as those they are violent towards.
