The Woman Scream (Grito de Mujer) cause, on its 13th. anniversary, has published an international anthology of women's poetry entitled Mother of the Earth: Female Voices for Environmental Activism. This compilation has the participation of more than 80 women poets from different countries, whose words, pay tribute to farmhand women and their rights to cultivate the land, as it is also a tribute to women activists who have suffered abuse or lost their lives defending environmental rights.
"Mother of the Earth" anthology, has been illustrated by the Latin American artist Adorable Monique and bears the motto of Woman Scream Festival 2023. It has been dedicated to: Berta Cáseres, Wangari Maathai, Mama Tingó, Paulina Gómez Palacio, Emilsen Manyoma, Javiera Rojas, Angélica Ortiz, Diana Isabel Hernández Juárez, Sandra Liliana Peña Chocué, Irma Galindo Barrios, Fikile Ntshangase, Leonela Tapdasan Nightmare, Laura Leonor Vásquez Pineda, Nora and Estelina López, (In Memoriam). To Mercedes Sosa, Greta Thumberg, Winona LaDuke, Vandana Shiva and all the other missing names.
The Woman Scream call for submission, was attended by over 500 poets who raised their voices, in a necessary space for women committed to activism and women's rights for a life free from violence.
