Next March, 2021, the Woman Scream Festival, will celebrate its 11th edition with a series of virtual and semi-virtual cultural events against women violence. The International Poetry and Arts Festival will be under the slogan: "Women Warriors: Violence is not in quarantine!", a theme that reflects women and girls who are or have been victims of violence during this pandemic, and that live in quarantine with their abusers. Woman Scream 2021, will also offer exclusively, free access to a special selection of short films, featuring creators from different countries, with movies made by male and female filmmakers who have expressed solidarity with the cause.
Woman Scream Festival (Grito de Mujer-Cri de Femme), which format has been adapted to respond to the worldwide global sanitary crisis, will be taking place virtually for the enjoyment of its followers, introducing throughout the month of March, recitals, conferences, workshops, artistic presentations, talks and open access to a video library of more than 30 short films (from 1 to 30 minutes long), created especially to advocate against women violence, disrespect and the low self-esteem that women and girls currently face, in an effort to reach out to the public that even today, is confined in their homes.
“Events will take place online in over 20 countries”, confirms Jael Uribe, Founder of the WS Festival, “We’ll also make a special program showcasing the video proposals selected on our first video call for submissions ended last January, with participants from 34 countries”. The video proposals are in different languages: Portuguese, French, English, Spanish and Italian and they include poetry, performance and music presentations.
The complete Woman Scream 2021 program, list of countries, cities and short films participating on Woman Scream Festival 2021, will be posted by mid-February on our page.
