WOMAN SCREAM 2026 (GRITO DE MUJER): A Poetic Scream That Transcends Borders in Piacenza, Italy

Piacenza, Italy – March 26, 2026 – The city of Piacenza became the epicenter of a transcendental artistic and performative gathering with the celebration of Woman Scream 2026 (Grito de Mujer). This event, part of the prestigious international Woman Scream network, was successfully integrated into the program of the renowned Pulcheria Festival, dedicating a full day to freedom of expression and the defense of women's rights under the inspiring motto "Beyond Boundaries."

The event, held at the Auditorium of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, was coordinated by Sabrina De Canio and Lucilla Trapazzo, representatives of the Piccolo Museo della Poesia. Both led this artistic encounter, which is part of a global movement active every March in dozens of countries, consolidating Piacenza as a key point in the network of solidarity and art that defines Woman Scream worldwide.

As an inclusive and plural network, Woman Scream succeeded in establishing a profound dialogue among artists, poets, and performers from diverse cultures, highlighting the autonomy of territories and the richness of participating voices. The gathering offered an immersion in various artistic languages, from poetry and video to installations, dance, and visual arts, all converging in a critical reflection on the political, cultural, and internal borders that define our contemporary society.

This year's edition stood out for the quality and diversity of its international cast, featuring participants such as Mona Al-Assi from Palestine, Patrizia Bernelich, Elena Cecconi, Sabrina De Canio, Victoria De Canio, and the collective Giorgia Orsi and I Corpi Narranti from Italy. The event was also enriched by the voices of Viviane Ciampi from France, Betty Gilmore from the USA, Giorgia Greter from Switzerland, Principessa Idehen from Nigeria, Zahra Mroueh from Lebanon, Ana María Pedroso Guerrero from Cuba, Antje Stehn from Germany, and Lucilla Trapazzo representing Switzerland and Italy.

This gathering was not only a display of exceptional artistic talent but also an act of reaffirmation of Woman Scream's commitment to making visible women's struggles and the pursuit of equality. The day concluded as a resounding success, leaving a deep impression on the attending public and reinforcing the idea that art is the most powerful tool to question and overcome the borders that divide us.
