Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – February 19, 2026 – The Movement of International Women Poets (MPI, Inc.) proudly announces the 16th edition of the Woman Scream Festival (Grito de Mujer -Cri de Femme), themed “Without Borders.” This global event will span the entire month of March 2026, beginning on the 1st and concluding on the 31st, to honor the resilience, struggles, and contributions of migrant women and girls worldwide.
Originating in the Dominican Republic, the Woman Scream Festival has established itself as a premier international platform for visibility and advocacy. For the fifth consecutive year, the festival is recognized as part of the UN Women’s Generation Equality initiatives and is supported by the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM/OAS). Throughout the 31 days of March, an extensive calendar of cultural activities will take place, including lectures, poetry recitals, performances, music, courses, and workshops, among other artistic expressions.
The 2026 edition will feature the solidarity and participation of representatives across the following countries: Dominican Republic, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Chile, Honduras, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru, El Salvador, Cuba, Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Canada, Morocco, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Australia, and Serbia.
This festival aims to amplify the voices of migrant women and girls, raising awareness of their challenges while celebrating their strength. Through art and culture, Woman Scream promotes a message of unity and respect for human rights that transcends all geographical boundaries.
